I know we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves and this is very easy for some. I have a question concerning loving yourself. I don’t love myself and I suffer from depression and anxiety. These ailments make me feel weak and disqualified for everything and so I don’t tend to find very many good qualities about myself. My faith is a good quality but other than that, I don’t really love myself. I might like myself occasionally, but love? No way. I’ve also heard that you can’t love someone unless you first love yourself. This makes me feel sad because I don’t love myself and I feel that if I were ever to enter into a relationship, I wouldn’t love that person the way that I should. This makes me feel discouraged in the dating game. And yes, I know that God loves me but most of the time, I don’t feel his presence or love in my life. How do I know it’s Him anyways? Any thoughts?

Jesus also said to love others as He has loved them so you can focus on that if it makes it easier.

Love God, God is …beyond description in beauty, mercy and all and every attribute known and unknown, and know that you are made in His image!

Your soul is beautiful, polish it so that the reflection of God penetrates your every fibre and become.

And every neighbour is like you too.

Love God … love you.

Loving yourself (and others) is not dependent on your feelings, but on acts of the will. It can be harder with depression, but if you don’t already you should be working with a therapist to help you manage your symptoms.

Loving yourself means seeing the dignity of God in you. It is taking care of your body, practicing prayer. It is being able to call yourself a child of God, even when you don’t feel like it.

we all feel the same, at some point of our lives, at times frequently, god has created you in his own likeness and image, you are precious in his eyes, an apple of his eye,as in Isaiah 43:4 Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you,I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. god has entrusted your soul to you ,you need to pray and over come all difficulties in life by his grace, and live for yourself and for other around you, and the world at large, because each time you attend Mass and been to the sacraments praying for the church and people ,there is rejoicing in heaven and souls in purgatory are cleansed, hell diminished and defeated, so you see there is lot of accountability, we need to give Jesus.

Jesus is with you till the end of time as in _Mt 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.”_and mother Mary is praying constantly for you innumerable saints ,remember you have more people on your side than you ever imagined 2 Kings 6:16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
These ailments make me feel weak and disqualified for everything and so I don’t tend to find very many good qualities about myself.
ailments ! just offer them to Mother Mary who in turn will then add her own to it and offer it to Jesus in a perfect way and gain more graces for you ,thank god constantly when you feel sad or depressed think about the wonders he has done for you and still doing it of how much Jesus is loving you, as if your the only person on earth left,as in 2 Corinthians 12:9 but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
And yes, I know that God loves me but most of the time, I don’t feel his presence or love in my life. How do I know it’s Him anyways? Any thoughts?
Mother Theresa of Calcutta didn’t experience Jesus love for 50 year ,you know what i mean dark night of the soul ,but through the eyes of faith went forward,so don’t bother about feeling, pray gto get a good life partner, god bless
