Please don’t misunderstand. Perhaps I should clarify. See, when I say I am a Latin Rite Catholic, I do not mean I attend a Tridentine Mass; there are currently none in my area. But I am a Roman Catholic. Maybe I’ve muddled the correct terminology.IMHO, you seem a little bitter about all things Latin… and it seems like you’re putting an inordinate amount of emphasis on HOW the Mass is celebrated. As long as it’s a valid Mass, it’s the same Eucharist and the same Christ, and whether it’s celebrated in Latin English or in the eastern rite, that is cause for joy, not bitterness.
However, in my beginnings of Catholicism, I became a very adamantly pro-Latin-speaking-Tridentine-traditionalist. And I’m not now suggesting that is wrong, just that my own spirituality no longer finds relevance there. Like I said, I could go into the reasons if anyone wishes.
So I agree wholeheartedly that all these different Masses are legitimate. There is no bitterness involved. I’m sorry if that is what seemed communicated. I just now have a rather convinced view of how various liturgies should be relevant to their population.
In fact, when it comes to the Eastern rites, liturgy takes second place to me, just behind the theology I find to be more akin to how my mind is currently thinking of the faith.
