How to pronounce ciborium?

Me too - I think ‘chee’ for ci is more Italian usage than Latin.
 
no, the ci ce sound like chee and che, and ca co cu sound like ka ko and ku in latin… well at least thats how its chanted
 
In Vatican Latin “ciborium” will be the same as you would pronounce it in Italian. “Sib-” in other types of pronunciation, “kib-” in “restored Latin” (supposed to be classical). An even rarer pronunciation (incidentally, the one I normally use) sports a “tzib-” there.

Just kidding… but I have always favored the Latin pronunciation as it is a Latin word. We wouldn’t say or sing Salve Regina as though we were discussing ointment. Why anglicanize this word?

I’m sure there are other examples, but my brain is chanting *cibo! cibo! * “food! food!” (pronounced chee bo in Italiano) so I can’t seem to think of one. Maybe after dinner… Ciao! 🙂
