This will be my first “true” Holy Week, so i need all the details to celebrate it properly. What to do, where to go, on which day,… really every detail of each day. Thank you in advance.

Every Catholic Church in your Parish will have a Pamphlet of what is on, its just a matter of picking one that you like , ring around some of the Church’s to find out make sure to have paper and pen handy to jot down times and what is on . Look to see if they have anything on their Website also.

Happy Easter.

I see your from Slovenia, you most probably have Eastern Catholic Rites in your Parish, so you can explore both. (Best of both worlds)

Just go to Mass everyday, especially on Holy Thursday (in the evening, that is). Then you can also go to the Good Friday and Holy Saturday, which are also super special, and make sure to go to the Easter Vigil Mass. That’s like the height of the liturgy right there, but be warned, it’s way long. Make sure to also fast and abstain from meat on Good Friday. (But this is my first week going to The Holy Tridiuum, so I don’t really know much either, just that if you want the full experience, you should go to all of it.)

It is recommended to keep the Paschal Fast after Good Friday until after the Easter Vigil Mass is concluded.

Actually Slovenia is traditionally and predominantly a Catholic country of Latin rite. Eastern Catholic rite probably exist, but in quite small numbers, and even those are probably not ethnic Slovenians. There is a common misconception probably that Slovenia is more of an Eastern European country, but in fact Slovenia is in Central Europe, and has more similiarities with Austria, Germany and other central European countries. That is because we were under the Holy Roman Empire and then the Austrian Empire for centuries.

I went to my first Easter Vigil last year and it was incredible. I’m being confirmed at the Easter Vigil this year so it will probably be more incredible.
