I’m getting my cdl soon XD

I was thinking that working less could possibly enable you to do a different type of help for the community.

CDLs are a good thing.

You do have to keep your eyes open, though. One of the reasons why there’s such an emphasis on self-driving cars isn’t because of the consumer side of things, but more to totally reimagine the trucking industry. (According to a friend who is in AI and working on such projects.) There are 3.5 million CDL drivers in the US. If even 5% of them get replaced by AI in the next 15, 20 years-- that’s 175,000 drivers out of business. At the moment, though, there’s a 60,000 driver shortage… so it’s definitely a good skill to have for now, and for the middle future. Just keep your ears open.

There’s always multiple ways to help people, rather than just throwing money at things. Being able to give your time is a very precious thing. Having a talent or a skill that you’re able to share with others is also very important. That’s good that you’re keeping that in mind. 💙

I tend to think that these questions are more about the individuals state of mind than they are about a specific dollar amount or possession.

I think the guy who drives a Maserati but isn’t inordinately attached to it and doesn’t see it as more than a nice car is in better shape than the guy who drives a Honda but obsesses over it and turns it into some kind of idol.
