What is the best way to read the Bible with proper context? I’d like to find some sort of YouTube channel, podcast, or webinar that walks me through each book. I’ve read through most of Genesis, but I think I will get more out of it I can be guided through it, and I’m not a good reader. Any ideas?

I wish there was one specific source I could recommend for all the books of the Bible. I have read reviews that say that the Navarre Bible is a great resource for bible study. I have yet to purchase a set but plan to in the future. Study editions of the Bible like the Ignatius Study Bible. They only have the New Testament as of now but I have heard that the Old Testament version is going to be released by the end of the year. Two specific authors/speakers that I personally like are Biblical Scholars Dr. Scott Hahn and Dr. Brant Pitre. There books and lectures on the Bible are amazing and very resourceful.

Hopes this help!

The outstanding video commentary on Luke’s Gospel by Frances Hogan on EWTN is very hard to beat. Doctrinally sound, with deep spiritual insights and at the same time very scholarly. I think you can get it on YouTube

I’ve been reading the OT in conjunction with this book:

A Catholic Introduction to the Old Testament

It breaks down each book of the Bible based on theme and historical context, provides that context, and relates it back to the greater Bible as a whole. It goes verse by verse through the whole thing. It also talks on scholarly aspects of each book, such as authorship, controversy about translations or meanings (for example, I’m reading Isaiah right now and it has a portion dedicated to the debate between “virgin” or “young girl”.) It’s definitely not a light text though, it’s designed for people studying the Bible in depth in a collegiate setting.

It’s been invaluable in my understanding, I highly recommend it.
