How to replace scorpions with eggs

A prevalent weak idea of what constitutes theft, just like the “gender debate” vortex, reflects a picture that has been presented (by 55 years of stop-start teachings) of the Father who gives His son and his daughter a scorpion when they asked for an egg, and a Mother Church who lived in a shoe mentality.

The tragic young man missing from the RAF (not long left school) is the poster boy for the third generation indoctrinated - by the professions and politicians - that he has got to go for sex no matter what, and nothing else. What image is Mr Trump giving boys and girls alike, regarding what or who is to be “conquered” or whether there is a better way of treating those around us?

But did the authorities have to hand a living template to copy good values from? Will toning down the moralising a bit - or even tweaking it up a little - have sufficient beneficial effect?

When Jesus ascended, He distributed gifts to mankind. Grace Abounding = Holy Spirit power for living. The One Who proceeds from the Father AND the Son alike.

Sonship and daughterhood adopted, like widowhood, into the prospering family firm (last 21 verses of Proverbs).

If we are faithful in bearing witness to a small testimony (helping our fellow bear his and her burden), we shall be entrusted with bearing witness in a greater testimony.

We ought to ask to be re-refilled with His Holy Spirit whatever we do, as well as every time we meet.

Those whose vague pronouncements continually mystify (the interpretations of whose interpretations mean cr*p), have the form of godliness but deny its power and block the way of the needy into the Kingdom of God. They scour land and sea to turn one person into a seven times worse hypocrite than themselves. They don’t believe that any so-called “holy spirit” proceeds from either the Father or the Son and hence probably not in the Father or Son either.

Here I speculate that those who are received into the Church benefit from the graces Christ has given His Church.

If we are faithful in bearing witness to a small testimony (helping our fellow bear his and her burden), we shall be entrusted with bearing witness in a greater testimony.

And here perhaps you mean that we must persevere in prayer because the more we evangelize, the more people God will send our way?

Reading this thread, I was reminded of a prank I expect to happen at some point involving chatbots. Chatbots are computer programs that try to mimic the kinds of stuff people type. They’re supposed to provide a dialog when you aren’t talking to a real person, but most of them are not very good at it. Well, computer scientists are trying to improve chatbots using modern AI software, and sometimes they’ll test out their results by making a publicly accessible chatbot, like Microsoft did last year with Tay. (The results were very poor.)

At some point, I expect some agnostic or atheist person to use one of these chatbots to pull a prank on a Christian forum. Chatbots can only write stuff based on the (name removed by moderator)ut they’ve been given, and I expect somebody to program one to “read” from a large Christian database (like a forum, for example) and then mimic what it “reads” by writing a new thread on its own containing the kinds of stuff it has “learned” that people on that forum like to talk about. The result would be a thread with a sort of “average” of the kinds of stuff people tend to write on that forum. The skeptical person will laugh and laugh if people think it’s a real post from a real person.

If the OP is using one of those chatbots, which still aren’t very good yet, that would explain why the thread doesn’t make much sense but does use lots of words that float around on CAF.

What I’ve learned from this forum (this thread is a great example) is that there are many people who speak with the same level of coherence as chatbots, only with more passion.

The etymology of morale is quite interesting. The Feench had two words *moral, *one feminine (moral, in English) and one masculine (temperament in English). The second was adopted to mean team spirit, enthusiasm, or confidence, and is thus not really related to morality.

Unfortunately, the weakness of the enthusiasm and semantics of the Feench is characteristic of many current temperaments. Sadly, morale is a victim of this trend. Trump and Pope Francis are on opposite sides of a non-Catholic worldview that future generations will have to deal with if we’re not careful. Your insight is excellent, though. I had the same thought after reading another post from the same account on another thread. Not that it was a prank, but that it was a bot.

I just meant that the vortex you mentioned vis a vis gender theory and all the debates surrounding it should be considered in light of all of the parables. I agree with your first post, and would only add that Mr. Trump may not be as inconsistent as we’ve been led to believe. I think it would be beneficial to incorporate some wisdom from others’ interpretations, while of course remaining completely faithful and true to the truth of our Catholic faith. Tweaking the moralizing will only ensure further confusion. Truth is truth! Let’s not forget that. You are so, SO right about vague pronouncements NOT coming from the Holy Spirit. Our God is a God of clarity, not confusion. We can safely assume that any obvious incoherence comes straight from the Evil One. He is the REAL scorpion. He would have us be perpetually distracted by our own hypocrisy, but even more so by that of others, especially the most prominent. Further, your imagery of “shoe mentality” is especially spot on.
