How to retrieve baptismal certificate

Hi. Me and my partner are planning to get married. But my partner is doubtful if he already baptized because he has no baptismal certificate in their church as we checked it. How we will be able to know if he already get the sacrament of baptism? Because baptismal is one of the requirements to get the sacrament of confirmation. How we will retrieve his file (Baptismal Certificate)? Please I need the answer. Thank you in advance.
 
This is not something that anyone here can really help with. It would be best to speak with your pastor for direction. If your partner cannot find any records of his baptism, the pastor could require him to go through RCIA/C again, but the laws have a lot of detail to help with various situations. I think if there are witnesses to the baptism that can make a statement or photographs of the baptism, those would be enough for a new certificate to be issued without having to do RCIA/C again, but you can’t do anything unless you talk to your pastor.
 
His parish where he was baptized should have his record. If they don’t, then there are several possibilities as to why:
  1. He is mistaken about his baptismal parish and was baptized somewhere else. If that is the case, he will have to call around to other parishes to see if they have his records.
  2. He was baptized at that parish but the pastor didn’t record it in the records for some reason, such as an error, and there are witnesses who can attest to his baptism such as he himself if he were older, his parents, or godparents or someone else. If this is the case, one of the witnesses can complete an affidavit of baptism for him, which serves as the documentation of baptism.

  4. He was mistaken and was never baptized. His pastor will baptize him.

As per her mother, he was baptized during the feast in their village. They do not know if he is listed as one of the young baptized ones. But he has a godfather who will stand as witnessed because all the pictures they have as evidence have been destroyed during Typhoon Ruping.

By the way, after his Godfather fill out the affidavit of baptism. What we will do next?

Provide the affidavit to the pastor. The pastor will proceed as needed.
 
After the process, the Pastor will released his baptismal certificate?
 
The affidavit of baptism takes the place of the baptismal certificate.

I’m not sure what your question is at this point.

Is your partner Catholic?
 
Okay. We will only present the affidavit of baptism for his confirmation.
