How to send money to overseas missions

I have a very good Polish friend who is a priest and has a mission in Kiabakari, Tanzania. There is a school, where you can sponsor a child (or more than 1). I have tried

1. Check (they can’t/won’t cash them in Poland)
2. Bank transfer. There is a $40 fee on both sides

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Try through Catholic Charities. They may have already a fund or program that funds such endeavors, and donate through them.

Paypal might work. They have a presence in Poland and charge between a half percent and two percent for International money transfers.

Call your bank and see if you can purchase an international money order.
