In the original my post the questions was not, “Should I follow the advice of a priest,” but “
given the fact that I am following the advice of the priest, what are some practical ways of putting that advice into practice.”
**I am looking for people who are in this situation or who have specific advice on how to cope in a marriage like mine. **The black and white is easy. If the priest said I must remain abstinent for forever, then I could adjust my habits accordingly. If he said I could initiate whenever I wanted, that would be easy. But in the middle, it is very hard. I cannot initiate, yet my wife is beautiful and I always have the thought in my head, “I wonder if she is going to want initiate tonight?” Can you see how that is hard?
