I feel like I am on a total merry-go-round of a repeating cycle and I just am at the end of my rope with trying to stop it.

I know I have a job for at least another 4 weeks (praise be to God). However I have been looking for a better opportunity for years (ie or the past 3 years I have taken every single job offered to me no matter how much they were dead end or low pay) I have done my resume more harm than good because I have gone from having a good resume to a mediocre one. Those are all secular things and I am trying to see it from God’s eyes but I can’t see it right now.

So, everyday is a constant struggle. My manager is always ‘changing her story’ Yesterday, I asked her where a particular file that would be helpful to my work was. She responded it hadn’t been made public yet. Today she wants to know why I didn’t use it:rolleyes: I didn’t dare point that out to her because I really think she would have blown her lid.

Yesterday, just her and I were in a room on a conference call. She told everyone she wanted me there. But whenever anyone asked me a question, she made it clear by the look in her eyes I was not to answer. So I sat there and listened to her mumble under her breath and complain about every one on the other end of the call (not always putting her phone on mute) and snap.

I kept praying, ‘God, help me to cheer my boss up’, then I prayed "God help me to shed light on the situation’ to ‘God, how do You want me to handle this situation’. Today she sent me an email apologizing about her behaviour. I wrote back ‘no problem, I was thinking about the situation last night, perhaps this suggestion would help’. She did not get back to me.

Things are a big mess in the office where I work. Any suggestion I make to improve things are rarely implemented. The frustrating part is they are NOT even considered. If they were considered and then it was explained to me why my suggestion would not work, I would be better off because then I would have more knowledge about the business and able to make better suggestions. But from where I am sitting, I am fed up of being the punching bag of an overworked bossed when she is the one who does it to herself.

So, all that to say, I try to surrender my will to God, but things are NOT getting better. not even my peace of mind. So the really merry go round I want to get off of is my spiritual one of always doing the same prayers and trying the same charitable acts only for it to get me know where

Angie,

God may not answer your prayer by changing your circumstances (though he certainly may do that too, in his own time). Often we go through these trials so we can learn something or grow in some virtue. Try praying for insight into the good that God wants to come out of your situation. It may be nothing more than trust in him. But it sounds like you are also exercising charity.

It’s kind of like physical health. You can work out every day and not see the results. But working out does your body good, and eventually those results become evident. Think of charity like a muscle that you’re working out.

I hope this helps a little. I know it’s hard.

Please know that I am remembering you in prayer too - you’re not in it alone. Brothers and sisters in Christ stand by each other through trial. :crossrc:

Blessed Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful, strengthen the fearful,
mother and love the weary, abused, neglected
or forgotten among us,
give your aid to all needing help or healing,
assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering,
be with those needing peace,
console the lonely or brokenhearted,
comfort the lost or hopeless,
guard the unborn,
pray for those who are dying or who have died,
soften those with hardened hearts,
enlighten those who do not yet see truth,
help us be brave enough to let our hurt and anger go,
show us the way to do the right thing,
protect those who are in danger,
and guide us from every evil.
May all who keep your sacred commemoration
experience the might of your assistance.
Amen :gopray2:

Angie, work situations like this are so, so difficult. Remind yourself daily that you aren’t the problem. Usually people who are hurting so much themselves hurt others( your boss). You have tried to give thoughtful & useful suggestions to improve things, but to no avail. I think don’t bang your head on the wall anymore about offering good advice. Continue to pray as you have been, certainly God is using you in this situation and also teaching you for something in your future. Continue to try your best making no new suggestions unless you are asked and of course continue to job hunt. Expect other strange happenings that seem illogical to you to happen in your workplace… Hang on!!! Praying for you!!!

Yes, I do think I am growing in charity. However, yesterday was such a bad day, I just needed to vent since knowing I was becoming more charitable wasn’t a consolation at the time

Thank you everyone for your kind words

Our work culture has become so secularized, that the Devil must be having a field day. I am half-convinced that the majority of challenges in the workplace are spiritual-related.

It’s exceptionally hard to be a Christian in the modern work world. In the corporate world, Christian ethics have been replaced with greed, corruption, and self-promotion. Over the years, I have seen multiple incidents in the workplace of what can only be considered to be influences of the Devil, even direct action of his kindred.

Taking the Lord’s advice, prayer and fasting may be the only way to rid the workplace of these situations. The Rosary is especially powerful in this regard, as is daily Mass attendance.

Exactly.

I would add,
  1. blessing yourself with holy water before you leave for work in the morning
  2. saying the St. Michael prayer
  3. praying to your guardian angel for protection
  4. praying to your guardian angel and your supervisor’s guardian angel for peace between you
  5. saying the St. Michael chaplet at least once a week
  6. inviting your guardian angel and your supervisor’s guardian angel to Sunday Mass to pray for peace, healing, forgiveness, strength, consolation, conversion, and salvation for you both
Have I felt the need to do this myself?
Absolutely.

And yes, the daily Rosary!

Praying for you …

:blessyou:
