How to suppress coughing for a day

Hi all! I’ve got a bit of a problem. I have a big date tomorrow, but I seem to have gotten this dry cough. I’ve had it all week, ever since I moved into this new place, and the dust and cleaning have made me really allergic. Was sneezing and coughing all last weekend. The sneezing went away, but the coughing is persisting and I feel congested. I haven’t been sick in years, and I’ve forgotten what to take for this kind of thing. Is there something I can take that can suppress the cough for a day and yet doesn’t make me drowsy?
