How to thank St. Anthony?

St. Anthony interceds a lot and this morning he found my glasses when I really needed them.What can we do to thank him?

Although Saint Anthony was born into riches he rejected it to serve the poor.

So you could make a donation to the poor or have Masses said for the souls in Purgatory, and a thank-you in prayer, or some-other charity.

St.Anthony is my beloved Patron Saint and he’s granted my request prayers often too.
There is a great website about this saint and there are many ways to thank St.Anthony even personally.

I think he might like it if I find a way to electronically link my cell phone, keys, glasses and purse, maybe to my TV remote, so if I find one, I can find all of them, and give the good saint a break.
 
I also owe St. Anthony many, many thanks. He has helped me soooooo many times find things. Little, unimportant things just to help keep me sane because I lose everything in this house. :o

I’ve asked him for help finding something a little more important, though. Years ago, when I was still a teen, my mom gave me and my sister a very expensive crystal rosary. I kept it for years in my top dresser drawer in it’s original box. At some point, probably between our many, many moves it has vanished. I have no idea what could have happened to it. So, I’ve asked St. Anthony to return to me so I have it to pray my Divine Mercy Chaplet every night. I would like so much to have it back so I have something special to pass down to my grandkids someday…
 
I often wonder how St Anthony can stop and help others when he has a full time job at my household. :confused:
 
Thank him by resolving to be a saint and life a virtuous life.

Your salvation will make him very happy.

This website is for an elementary school in New Orleans. Is there a hidden link to click there, or is there perhaps a different web address altogether for the website about the saint? Thanks.

My mother gave me my baptismal name, Anthony, after St. Anthony. When she was pregnant for me, she had very difficult time, and was sure I would not be born alive, never mind healthy.
She prayed to Saint Anthony and promised to name me after him, I was born healthy. I was, and hence my baptismal name.

He’s always had a place in my heart.

try this, telling St Anthony that if the rosary is found, you will pray it daily, so the kiddos and grandkiddos can see. You will not merely keep it safe in a box in the dresser.
 
Use Google and google “Franciscan Mission Associates.”
(without the quotation marks, LOL ).

The devotion called **St. Anthony’s Bread **
is a popular way of thanking Saint Anthony and several centuries old. You make a small donation to St. Anthony’s Bread,
which is used to buy food for the poor, whom Anthony cared so much about.

Franciscan Mission Associates have a St. Anthony’s Bread
for the poor donation program on their website.

That was the gist of the conversation. 😃

But then again, once I pull it out of my dresser drawer, he’s going to have to step in and help me find it again.

Give a donation to “St. Anthony’s Bread”.

If your local parish does not have a “St. Anthony’s Bread” fund, then make the donation to your parish church’s poor box. Personally that is what I do.

And to show my confidence (St. Anthony really does help find things), I promise to cheerfully give $5 to the poor box while I’m praying – payable as soon as practical after finding the lost item. I think St. Anthony has extra motivation when he knows there will be a donation to the poor attached to his helping find something. Probably he can see who the $5 will help and how badly they need the help. I know I cannot see that.

I really don’t know much. Except that it seems to work out for me quite well. When something is lost and I am concerned enough to pray to St. Anthony, it gets found.

Just remember to be prompt and cheerful in paying up to the poor box (or St. Anthony’s Bread). And thank St. Anthony for his help when you put the money in the box.

If your Catholic Church doesn’t have a poor box, then I feel sorry for you. I know of a few like that around here. Personally I would not feel that I was in a Roman Catholic Church unless there was a poor box and candles to light for Mary. Although I am a recent convert, that is how I remember the Catholic Churches from my childhood in upstate New York. I am very happy that my local parish has poor boxes, some statues, candles, adoration chapel, First Friday devotions, etc. If they didn’t, maybe I wouldn’t have converted. I feel at home in my parish church.

we dont have a St. Anthonys bread fund:( but we do have a poorbox, so I’ll donate to that.

He must be able to bilocate, because he spends quite a bit of time at my house, too! I asked him this summer to help me get my house a bit more organized so he didn’t need to keep answering my 911 calls to him. He’s helped me by directing me to flylady.com, and for this I am greatful!

This website is led by the friars of Basilica of St.Anthony of Padua,Italy.If you go to the link dear St.Anthony you’ll be taken to another link which for example you can write your own prayer intention,prayer answered,etc either published for public/readers or not.You can even write your prayer intention or just email directly to a friar/friars and he/they’ll give you an answer.I’ve done it before:) This is a wonderful website and I’ve visited the tomb of St.Anthony of Padua in this magnificent basilica last year too.
