Using the Daily Roman Missal is not that much different than using the disposable missalettes that riddle the pews of so many parishes these days.
Find the Ordinary part of the Mass (typically somewhere in the middle). If you would like you can put a ribbon at the beginning of the Liturgy of the Word and another at the beginning of the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Next find the proper parts. Today would be Friday in the 10th Week of Ordinary Time. You can place another ribbon there if you’d like.
Now that you have the ordinary and proper parts of the Mass of the day marked you can go back and forth as needed or desired.
As for the other ribbons, most missals have sections for various saints. You can place a ribbon at the next Saint’s feast day you think you will attend. There are also sections for prayers and other devotions. Ribbons can go there, if you want. There is no hard and fast rule. They are merely a tool to make the missal easier for YOU to use.
I hope this helps!
