Hi all! I’m receiving a miraculous medal as a gift soon and I had questions on how to wear it. I’m currently enrolled in the Brown Scapular and I wear that under my clothes (the only time I take it off is to shower, which I use that time to clean it when need be too). Should I wear the miraculous medal similarly to the Brown Scapular under my clothes, or should I wear it over my clothes? In addition, should I take it off to shower like my scapular, or should I remain it on (I’ve read a lot of people leaving it on during the shower which I am thinking that I should do). Finally, I have a Jerusalem Cross that I have been wanting a smaller chain for. Would it be permissible to add that to the same chain as my miraculous medal or should I just use a separate chain. Thanks for the help!

Under your clothes is fine. Or you can put it on top, your choice.
You can leave it on or take it off to shower, I take mine off because I don’t use a chain, I use dental floss so I don’t set off metal detectors (the medal is a hard plastic).
You can put the medal and cross on same chain, but I always read not to hang the medal off your scapular.

Whatever you want mate, under your shirt, over it, with or without other medals or crosses, under the shower, in the bath tub, all your choice

I have my Miraculous medal on the same chain as my St.Benedict medal. I have my crucifix on a separate chain.

It really is up to you. I think wearing it in the shower tends to oxidize it and “stuff” causing some discoloration over time.

The worry is always that one will die somehow in the tub or shower (I have heard of this happening) and won’t have the medal or scapular on. However, since it’s not a magic charm, I think Mary would give habitual wearers the benefit anyway.

The only time that I tend to remove my scapular and medals are when showering.

Otherwise, I leave them on.

I have all of my medals on one cord, including my Miraculous Medal. That’s how I wear mine. 🙂

I wear a miraculous medal pinkie ring I bought at a shrine once for 50 cents.
Every time I tried to wear one around my neck, the chain breaks or whatever.
I like the outward remembrance of my Mama Mary

My grandma pinned one to her bra and later my mom did as well. Before disposable diapers, some Catholic mother’s would pin one to their baby’s diaper.
