If you are in a state of grace at the time of your death, then you are in no such danger. Of course this raises the related questions:
  1. Will you be in a state of grace when you die?, and
  2. How do you know?

I would say that because of the sacramental nature of the scapular and because it is a holy garment, one should wear it over the shoulders even if the strings are sometimes visible becuase it is a sign of consecration and devotion to Our Lord through his Blessed Mother, it is also a great witnesss to the faith (mine has sometimes fallen out at work and i have often had the opportunity to then explain what it is and hy i am wearing it, not that i’d advocate shwing it off! ha ha!
Anyway, to my knowledge, It would not be right to have it in ones purse since this would be almost treating it like a lucky charm and there is no guarentee that one would recieve the promises if one was not wearing it as perscribed. (we should always trust in God’s mercy and grace, but i guess it is best to want to please our Lady too since the scapu;ar is sometimes described as the ‘silent devotion’ as it is a constant sign of our love for Mary!)

I hope this helps!

Love and prayers 🙂

It is a reminder of belonging to God, with the Blessed Mother as your mentor. A person could go to heaven without one. But if you were invited by some chance (if chance you call it) or if you felt inspired to it, it’s a channel of grace for you.

Perhaps your curiosity is an anonymous invitation of grace for you.

cause Jesus told me in that He died for me and if i believe, i will not perish but have eternal life.

do you believe?

True Jesus did say that He died for us, and true He did say if we believe…

I’d like to point out a few other things Jesus said, He said we had to be baptized also. He also told us the road to Heaven was narrow…that many would come falsely in his name.

Now as we all know Satan also believes in Jesus…but I can Promise you that Satan is Not going to Heaven. Many people “believe” in Jesus and are not going to Heaven.

Now I am Not implying that you are not going to Heaven by** No Means **am I implying that.

But just because we “believe” doesn’t give us a “ticket” into heaven. We must do all that Jesus said. The Catholic Church teaches all the things we need to know. We continue working out our Salvation every day.

Hope this helps.

did Jesus teach that if we wear the scapular, we’d be safe from eternal damnation?

i would quote Scripture but i’ve found out in my short time here that it don’t matter what God says so i will just say this for salvation i’d rather believe what Jesus said, that is my choice.

God bless you

No. What’s your point?

Whether or not one chooses to use a sacramental is always one’s choice. I also believe what Jesus said in regards to salvation. Again, what’s your point?

let us stick to the thread

No Jesus didn’t teach that if we wear the Scapular, we’d be safe from eternal damnation. Yet there are many benifits to wearing one.

May God Bless you as you get to know more about the Scriptures. (and the true History behind the Bible.)

is it true that whoever dies wearing the scapular will never suffer eternal fire?
Well we can’t wear one, live as we like and hope it saves us in the end, that’s a mockery, and damned risky.

Read a story of a prostitute who was dying in hospital, she never confessed, but when she was about to pass, she started shouting, “take it off me It’s burning” ( the scapular) so it was taken off and she died.

Wear it but don’t mock it.
