Dear friend,
Apart from disobedience of God’s command there is nothing which seems sinful? ALL SIN is disobedience of God. That the human race was so tainted by that act of disobedience, should tell us something of how good God is and that disobeying Him would be so serious an evil. We live in a world that is so completely insensitive to how good God is. People tend to think of God as just a bigger version of us. But God’s goodness is so great that it is beyond our ability to fathom. It is the passion and death of Jesus that shows us something of God’s goodness that He would endure such for our benefit. That God would do such a thing is beyond our ability to ever think of on our own. Certainly, the Jews, His chosen people, never dreamed that God would love us that much! And yet His death does not exhaust His love for us. But only in heaven will we be able to fully appreciate it. We will then know Him as He knows us. But we will never know Him as He knows Himself.
