How will Pope John Paul II be addressed?

When he is canonized, God willing, how will he be addressed? Will he be Saint John Paul II or will it be by his birth name Saint Karol Wojtyła?
 
he’ll still be known as his Pope name. I think currently he is
Pope Blessed John Paul II
 
Well, our beloved Holy Father Pius X is called Pope Saint Pius X, so I assume it would be Pope Blessed John Paul II? 🙂
 
I think for now he would be referred to as ‘Blessed John Paul II’.

‘Blessed Pope John Paul II’ is kind of a mouthful, tell you the truth! :o 😛
 
I had thought of Pope Pius X and when I looked him up he was styled Pope Saint Pius X. I was kind of confused because back when I went to catholic school, over 30 years ago, I went to St. Pius X. I guess they just dropped the “Pope” part of his name for the school.
 
“Blessed Pope John Paul” is what I’ve been hearing and “Pope Saint John Paul” when he is canonized.

There is an association that is promoting four things for Bl. John Paul: His beatification (done), his canonization, his declaration as “the Great” and his declaration as a “Doctor of the Church.” Fr. Mitch Pacwa on EWTN always refers to him as “John Paul the Great.”

It’s not a hard and fast rule or anything. The most complete way to refer to him would be “Pope Saint Pius X”, but that does not make it incorrect to call him “Saint Pius X” or even “Saint Pius” (or even “Saint Giuseppe Sarto” if you prefer…I don’t think he’d mind ;)).
 
Some refer to him as Pope John Paul the great.He’ll most likely be St.Pope John Paul 2.

When he is canonized, he will be called Pope Saint John Paul II
 
I referred to him as “Blessed John Paul II” because I honestly didn’t know how to address him now. 🤷

I have to admit it was a lot easier to say.
 
When speaking in the context of saints, blessed and petitions, normally Pope is not used. We speak of St. Peter, St. Gregory (the Great), St. Leo, St. Marcellus, St. Pius V, St. Pius X, Blessed Pius IX and Blessed John XXIII. Therefore the latest to be beatified is Blessed John Paul II.

When making a list of Popes or discussing encyclicals, or things specifically papal, one sometimes seesthings like Pope St. Piux V, Pope Blessed John XXIII to emphasie which popes are blessed or saints.
