How would a Jewish person be forgiven of their sins?

I was thinking, how would a Jewish person be forgiven if they sinned? They no longer have a priesthood, I heard they confessed their sins to the priest, and then they sacrificed an animal. Similer to the Catholic Sacrament, but without the animal sacrifice, for Christ was the perfect sacrifice. But what would a modern Jew do if they sinned? For example, eat pork, would their be no guilt attached to the Jew who did? Because Christ abbrogated it? What if they commited a sin like adultary or theft? How would they be forgiven?

I don’t know where you got the “confessed their sins to the priest” thing.
