This all just goes to show that there is no rational resolution to this. No change will suit all or even many. It’s not like the TLM goes straight back to Christ and the apostles – it just doesn’t. If internet postings had been around in 1570 people would be bashing the “Spirit of the Council of Trent” and arguing about how there were errors in the mass of Pius V. Isn’t the bottom line that as long as it’s a valid mass, we’re just arguing over style? Do we kneel? Do we stand? Can we hold hands when we pray? Where, when, and at what is the priest looking, standing, etc. during the mass? How is this going to be sorted out?
