The change of the date of Passover in the first council (Nicea) was clearly in conflict with scripture. It was absolutely called by Emperor Constantine, and the Bishop of Rome did not attend.
1.Constantine in fact did impose dogma on the council. You may wish to study more into that.
2.In the second council (Constantinople) the death penalty was decreed for those who followed the Passover practices of Jesus, the Apostle John, Bishop Polycarp, etc. The Bishop of Rome did not attend that council either.
3.BTW, I teach that AFTER the resurrection, those who have not had an opportunity for salvation will receive it and most will accept Christ. That was the position of the early church (sometimes called apocatastasis). When it was abandoned, the doctrine of purgatory was adopted by the Church of Rome.
Many Eastern Orthodox still believe in the doctrine of apocatastasis.
