How would you confess

to something you have done thousands of times? specifically illegally downloading music which would be stealing imo (I just erased over a thousand songs on my iphone). Im going to confession tomorrow and this is just one of the things im going to bring up. since you need to clarify the number of times should I say “I stole thousands of times over the past few years” or simply “I stole many times over the past few years, I dont know the exact number” is the latter still legit if I choose to say it like that? How would you say it?

This sounds good to me. Dont just say you stole thousands of times, thats too vague.

I would also note whether I profited in any way from the downloads, or file shared with others, causing them to sin, as well as mentioning the fact that I dumped them from the iPhone before confessing this. If you manually deleted all of the downloads, you should have at least a ballpark idea of the number of times that you downloaded, so include that as well. Also, note when it occurred to you that what you were doing was in essence stealing.

You want to BRIEFLY mention any mitigating or aggravating factors when you confess something like this.

A random thought. You said you deleted them off your iPhone. Did you also delete them off your iTunes on your computer? Not that you sync your phone and re-sync them onto your iPhone?

yup I deleted them all. Took me awhile to delete them because I was reluctant to do so but I just suddenly felt like I didn’t care as much for them as I use too.
