Also, a nail repair kit costs only $8 and it takes five mintues a tire to repair.

If the person does not leave early enough to allow for problems to get to work, then losing their job is on them alone.

You must learn to take responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming others for you lack of allowing enough time to get to work or blaming others for what you likely brought on yourself.

Today, I saw a car from a private drive cut off a vechile on the main road and then showed their IQ to the driver who cut them off. The driver of the other vechile went back and salted her drive with nails that driver had an vanity plate that is easy to remember.

What would you do with this situation?

Maybe I’m a little slow, but I don’t understand your comment:

1. “Showed their IQ to the driver”? Is that euphemism for giving the one-finger salute, or what do you mean by “showed their IQ”?
2. “Salted her drive with nails?” What does that mean? I took that to mean, the drive filed her nails (the fingernails kind of nails) on the license plate, or what?

I work in insurance, and if a description like this came across my desk, I’d send the file back for review to get the facts clarified because the above description is unclear.

Actually, I hold the record for the number of courtesy driving tickets at 269 now. A courtesy driving ticket on the front looks like a ticket with the words thanks for being a courteous driver on the back is a coupon for something like two free passes to a movie or eating place.

The golden rule is He who has all the gold makes the rules.

Even if I did cut someone off I would not flip them off, I would hold up my sorry sign. I have three signs on a stick in triangle, one says sorry, the other thank you and the last Hi there.

I assume every other driver is going to mess up and drive defensively.

I can’t even imagine getting a 'courtesy driving ticket." I’d probably have a heart attack…getting pulled over, with all the stress involved in THAT, to be handed a free pass to a movie?

I’m getting stopped from getting where I need to go, everybody and their brother is seeing me being pulled over…with resultant teasing from anybody who knows me, I"m having to stress over being late to work or class or whatever—my BP is going up and I’m starting to get a panic attack wondering what in the WORLD I could possibly have done to earn a ticket that is going to cost me two or three hundred dollars at least…

and the cop gives me a free pass to a movie???

I’m sorry, guys, but…

Spare me. I’m a courteous driver, I never flip anybody off, I always allow people to merge in front of me, I don’t cut people off or make life miserable for other drivers on the road, and I never, EVER, race the other guy to the stop sign. Please, policemen all over the USA, acknowlege my efforts by ignoring me. I’d appreciate that very much.

Only “clearly” to you. Lets clarify who did the flipping off (your original post is unclear) Did the person doing the cutting off also do the flipping also? That doesn’t make much sense. Did the person being cut off – do something like honk their horn? Can you outline the events more clearly.

I do know that the nails in the driveway if they result in a flat tire = stealing a taking of someones property (I would say its without justification) and that violates a commandment.

Maybe for you its 5 minutes. Anything mechanical in nature that I touch ends up taking 1/2 day.

It’s also on the nail thrower who has failed to act as if they are created in the image and likeness of God–lets stop trying to justify the action of the nail thrower–they were not greviously insulted–they need to learn to control their emotions and stop acting like a child.

Where I grew up–if I came out and had four flats–the can wouldn’t fix all 4 tires, there was no public transportation, the nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away and the nearest taxi 30 minutes–and with all due respect being flipped off is not justification for the nails. Further no one was blaming anyone–simply pointing out that often people don’t think about the potential consequences of their actions–in this case the nail thrower.

what is to deal? I was not involved and no crime was being committed–stupidity yes, but if I reacted to every idiot on the road I would get nothing done.

Cutting off = risk of accident, with possible injury or death
Nails = property damage
Flipping off = rudeness

In what moral universe is rudeness worse than creating a risk of injury to self/others?

I’m asking as a pedestrian who has often wished I could just shoot idiot drivers (they don’t learn anything from being flipped off).

Hi Diana, my most recent one was for picking up a bumper on a main road and disposing of it. The one before that was stopping short of a blind alley to let drivers out. Before that was stopping where I did not have to stop to let someone accross a five lane road because if I continued traffic would have been too heavy for a handicap person to cross safely. Many of them were for doing good samarithan type things. Because of my voluneture works I am often pulled over simply for the purposes of communication between myself and police.

actualy flipping off equals grave sin because you are insulting the image of God. The driver who cutted others off did not cause physical damage, but could have. The guy who threw the nails, he has a problem.

I echo this post completely. Indeed, as an artist, I would go home and construct a wooden pocket-memory. (A pocket-memory is my word for a man-made item to keep either on one’s shelf or on one’s person; it’s purpose is to remind one of a Biblical teaching.)
In this case, the pocket memory would be a circular piece of hardwood about two inches in diameter and half an inch thick. Onto the face of one side of this wooden “coin” I would tap-hammer in three tacks in a neat Trinity shape.
