Let’s not be too rose tinted about the past. Every era has its good and bad points.

Silly question. We are not God, and so have no right to judge. What do you hope to accomplish with this thread, anyway? If you are attempting to waste everyone’s time, you have succeeded admirably.
Sounds like you are judging me.

I think people who wring their hands about the state of humanity have not studied history, or not studied it with and open mind. Humanity has always had high levels of dysfunction and immorality. Do you know that by standard historical definition of “war,” the world has been at war 92% of reliably recorded history, and that some of the 8% of “peace” was enforced by brutal military dictatorships? Do you know that even with modern weapons, the death tolls of wars are generally going down in the modern era?

Do you know that the immorality and atrocities being committed today pale in comparison with what has gone on in the past? No matter how bad you think it is, I can show you places in history that were many times worse. That does not mean we should passively accept that fact. It does not mean we should not work for justice with all our strength. It means, and I know you have heard this: We change what we can, we accept what we can’t and try to have the wisdom to know the difference.

The world has always been a rough place. I don’t think God designed life to be easy and He had a reason for that. I think he meant for us to have a challenge. That is why faith is so important.

All humans are made in the image of God thus inherently worth saving, no matter how marred that image may be.

Agreed.

We think of “image” as a “mirror image”, but image can be more.

Genesis 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness

Malachi 3:
17 And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

God refers to men as jewels and therefore he is also as a jewel. The first thing God created was Light.

What happens when you shine a light through a jewel?

Genesis 9
12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

You are right. All are worth saving and with good reason: in order to recreate white light, one needs the entire spectrum. You need the whole image.

I totally understand how someone would come up with this question. I’m 70 years old, lived through the fun 1950’s, the crazy 60’s and watched the downward spiral of morality in not just the US, but the world as a whole.

There will always be sinners, but this question actually poses a question to the mindset of the individual succumbing to a growing sadness by most Christians. Sadness and anger that we are becoming a minority in a world gone crazy. Hollywood and television, the music industry, youtube, all becoming advocates for the promotion and indoctrination of depravity. The Lord told Abraham in Genesis, that He would not sweep away the righteous with the wicked. So if we still have righteous followers in the world, even if in a minority, which I don’t believe is the case, yet, we are worth saving. The difference being are we worthy? No. Are we worth being saved? Yes.
