How wrong is baptizing grandchildren against parent's will?

Would a grandparent (or anyone for that matter) go to hell for baptizing a grandchild in a non-emergency situation when the parents of the children were non-practicing Catholicism?
 
While such a baptism is ill advised and against canon law, I highly doubt it would result in cutting oneself off from God.
