Lent is about to begin and is an excellent time to work on one area in your life where you feel you could do better in living the Christian life.

It is now time to examine your life and set your goal.

Pray on it and let the Holy Spirit guide you in what to do and how to achieve your goal.

Pray for others that they will be granted the graces to achieve their improvement goals as we all work towards personal holiness.

Thanks for your contributions, Thomas. I have your site bookmarked.

My struggle has always been my prayer life. My goal for Lent is to read from a book of prayers, say my own prayer, and recite the Rosary daily. (I’m having a bit of trouble with the Rosary, you see I’ve been protestant my whole life, BUT! I’m becoming Catholic Holy Saturday ) One lady told me to try reciting it daily and see if it brings me closer to Jesus.

I would like for there to be less of “me” in myself and more of Christ.

:amen:

I remember last Lent, the first Lent I had experienced after being introduced to Catholicism. I was devouring everything I could learn, and this was a truly holy time for me, and one of the happiest of my life to this point. In the past several years, I must say that yes, my happiest and most content time was last Lent. And I’m not even Catholic yet. I’ll be baptized and confirmed on Holy Saturday.

I need to dedicate myself, this Lent, to putting away the computer and online entertainment and not let the hours slip away like this. I need to focus on apologetics and preparing myself to receive the Sacraments for the first time. I need to center my day around Christ and prayer – not center my day around everything else and fit those two in wherever I find time. 😦

I hope I can make this Lent as wonderful, if not better than, last.

Try a couple of Eucharistic holy hours sitting in front of the Blessed Sacrament in an adoration chapel each week of Lent. Let you desire to recieve Christ in the Eucharist grow with each visit. This should enhance your first reception on Holy Saturday and make it more meaningful each time thereafter.

I haven’t really thought much about how I want to be at the end of Lent…
Mostly I’d just like to be a bit less selfish, and a bit more humble, if I can.

I want to be physically healthier …
and skinnier …
and blonder …
and taller …
and I want world peace …

Oh dear, I’m turning into Miss Universe!
