How young may a godparent be?

It there a stipulated age for god-parents. My sister wants my 14 year old to be god mother to her baby.
 
Hi,

The code of canon law requires that the godparent be at least sixteen years old (canon 874, paragraph 2) “unless a different age has been established b;y the diocesan bishop or it seems to the pastor or minister that an exception is to be made for a just cause.”

So check with your pastor.
