I hope you will reconsider your association with these groups. I'm sure there is a Christian organization that is doing the same work, but not associated with the U.N.

There are over 30 listed sponsors and partners. In fact anyone can be a sponsor or parter.
I am not going to let Xylem stop us from testing local water and sharing the results.

This is a great opportunity to educate and raise awareness starting locally at the creek in the park.

The main groups are Water *Environment Federation *& International Water Association. Any issues with them?

EPA resources?

The water here is from a well and it terrible, I don’t drink it at all. The previous owner was a typical anti-enviornmental Texan and he changed the oil in his vehicles by pouring it on the ground instead of re-cycleing it. The oil went in the water table of course and the tap water is mixed with motor oil 10 years later.

I use it only to shower and outdoors for the roses and other decorative plants. I can’t use it for a vegetable garden. I prefer olive oil for my veggies and not motor oil.

It is amazing what we do when we don’t see the connections.

I live in Illinois and although we are said to have a state environmental protection agency, it is essentially unfunded.

Illinois is one of the largest states in the Union, but the quality of life suggests a New Jersey.

I have Lake Michigan water and I like it. I don’t know how long the quality will last, though. They are starting to find miniscule particles of plastic from face scrubs and the like, that are getting through the filters.

The whole EPA is pretty much unfunded.

I grew up on mountain water from a private waterline. Nothing quite like an extra dash of protein to put hair on your back.

City water isn’t quite as exciting. I don’t usually drink water anyway since I’m a juicaholic, but I keep a tap jug around.

I just learned about Volunteer Water Monitoring and am learning a great deal more about local water issues and challenges to good stewardship.

Here’s my question, how’s your bottled water?
It now seems to be an article of faith that municipal water is good for nothing but flushing and showering and co-workers look at me like I’m taking my life in my hands when I drink it.
My contention is that almost all bottled water is just somebody else’s tap water and even if it’s from a well, what guarantee is that?

Municiple water is not bad though it can be high in trihalomethane which is a byproduct of disinfecting.

and

“Short of testing it yourself, there’s no way to guarantee that your bottled water is free of contaminants. But you improve your chances if you stick to brands bottled by companies that are members of the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA). Their plants are open to unannounced inspections by NSF International, an independent certification agency .”
