Yes 🙂

God is goodness itself. Hence, He is life, love, power, glory, joy, etc., for all these things are good* Since existence is good, God is existence, and because existence is in itself self-existent, God is self-existent: and so, He has no beginning, nor end, so God has always been and He is and He will always be. God is eternal.

Existence (God) is self-existent because there is nothing that it can come from, nor anything that can exist without it. For where can existence come from? Existence? But it is existence itself! And since existence must in itself be self-sufficent - or else it can be changed or be dependant on others, in which case it could not be existence but a creature or creation, for if existence could be changed it would be liable to non-existence, and then nothing would be, or, if existence was reliant on something then that which it relied on would have to be greater then it, or else, lesser or equal to existence, if it died or ceased to be than existence would no longer be and so everything would cease to exist, and if the thing which existence relies on is greater then it, than logically that greater thing must be existence, for it holds in itself the power and fullness of existence, including the lower thing whcih one might call existence, and so we see how illogical it is to say existence can change or be dependant - than it must be eternal, without end just as it is without beginning. And this is why we say God is eternal, without beginning or end, solely self-sufficent and self-existent. But not only do we come to know the attributes of God by contemplating on good things, but we also come to know good things by contemplating God: if God is eternal, than existence be eternal; if God is infinite, than knowledge of the truth, while in our grasp, is still surpassing.
  • Matter is good, but God is immaterial, for He is not material goods such as atoms or chairs (that would be pantheism, the heresy that everything is God and God is everything). Certainly God is in everything and everything is in Him, but the universe is not supernatural - only He (God) is!

I just watched something on Richard Dawkins, and he said that if their was a God, God would of HAD to evolved. How is this so?

The word ‘always’ implies time. God exists outside of time. So, while it seems that the answer is ‘yes’, the question really isn’t applicable, since God isn’t a creature subject to time.

Dawkins’ silliness regarding evolution is answered the same way. God is not a creature. He does not ‘evolve’.

What a coincidence! The name Dawkins almost sounded like Darwin…

Just remember the “Alpha and the Omega”

That’s bizarre for an evolutionist to say. Individuals don’t evolve, populations do.

In his book “The God Delusion” this is how he states it:
The universe is incredibly complex. Some people try to explain its existence in terms of a creator (God). But this God would have to have been created by something even more complex. And this God-creator would have had to be created by something even more complex. Where does it end? The problem of complex existence just escalates and is never answered.
In other words, Dawkins is asking the same question that many seven-year-olds ask: Who made God?

Dawkins error, of course, is his flawed premise: that God is a creature just like the rest of us and thus have His origins the same way we (arguably) have ours.

However, by definition, God is non-creaturely. He isn’t flesh and blood like men or animals and he isn’t a product of Creation like the angels, who are pure spirit who were, we know from divine revelation, were created by God.

By definition, God is the uncreated Creator – the idea is that if one goes back to the very beginning there is God. To think otherwise is to relegate creation to an endless progression without a beginning.
