I will be praying for you. Although I haven’t been away for as long as your husband, I have been away for 4 weeks at a time and I understand. It is difficult. For a good father there is nothing that I can say that can make it better. I will stress that you need to help make it easier on your husband and try not to blame him for being away.
Obviously, being military, he has been away from home for extended periods before…so I think that is why this has hit him so hard. He thought it would be the same…but not now that he is a daddy. Parenthood changes a person. I can’t even imagine having to be away from our DD so I can really empathize with him.
And I certainly don’t blame him for being away. I wish things could be different for sure though… like why can’t he be trained here? Or why did they have to change the course from 3 months to 8 right at the moment hubby got accepted??? Or why can’t I be healthy so that neither of us have to worry about how things are here at home? etc etc etc… but I know that this will be good for him and good for us as a family.
It is hard on both the husband and the wife. I am facing something similar in January where I will be away from Jan to May with only a long weekend home every 3-4 weeks. He will be able to make it through it.

I am sorry you will have to be away from your family too. Make good use of those long weekends

I know that ya’ll talked about getting a laptop. Did they work out yet?
Yes, he was able to get one with the money they allotted him for having to move.
We tried out video chat last night and it will be great for him and Lily.

Again both you and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers. Just remember it is hard for your husband to be away, but I think you already understand that. I pray that you get the support that you need while he is away so that you can be understanding of his needs also.

Thank you so much
