This reminds me of the joke about the man sent to a therapist for some testing. The ink blot tests went like this:
Doctor: Now I’m going to show you some abstract ink blots, Mr Jones, and I want you to tell me the first thing that jumps into your head when you look at them. Here is the first one.
Patient: Sex
Doctor: How about this one?
Patient: Sex
Doctor: And this one?
Patient: Sex

When they got done with the whole stack of ink blots, the doctor says, Mr Jones, I think we need to investigate why you are so preoccupied with sex.
Patient: What makes you think I’m preoccupied with sex?
Doctor: Mr Jones, no matter what ink blot I showed you, you told me it made you think of sex!
Patient: Well, what was I supposed to think, when you kept showing me nothing but dirty pictures!

So true: for sex obsessed people everything is about sex and they honestly can’t see that they are obsessed.

This is a report on what Father Tony Adams has said about the Sistine Chapel. I read elsewhere that Michelangelo was a homosexual.

Just for clarification, Tony Adams is an openly homosexual man who is no longer in priestly ministry (i.e. an ex-priest). But the linked article is a combination fo Mr. Adams’ “insigthts” and commentary by someone described as a lesbian public theologian.

In short, consider the sources.

Once a Catholic is ordained a priest, it leaves an indelible mark on his soul, and he is a priest for life. So, AFAIK, although an ordained man is no longer in the priestly ministry, it would be incorrect to say that he is no longer a priest.

Well, yes, but people talk about being “ex-Catholic,” too, even though the seal of baptism is indelible.

Although as far as I can tell this priest has not been formally laicized or excommunicated, he has not acted as a priest for decades. He has publicly been in a same-sex relationship for a very long time, and it has been noted that he pointedly avoids Catholic liturgies put on by the homosexual-rights groups he has been associated with.

He has also been a rabid attacker of Pope Benedict, shamelessly repudiating the Holy Father’s intelligence and sexuality and in the most public ways he can find, and reiterating the fact of his own ordination in order to make the attacks more scandalous. Lately, he has chosen to officiate at same-sex marriages for the Universal Life Church denomination. He advertises his willingness to do weddings that are both invalid and illicit under canon law in a “traditional” way, presumably in order to pretend some semblance of identification with the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, even for people disobediently attempting marriages that are both forbidden to attempt and impossible to realize in truth.

He is another one who believes that all celibates are covertly if not overtly homosexual. It is very sad, actually. I do not know how he could make it more obvious that he has left the Church. He pointedly does not avail himself of the sacraments. I don’t know if anyone will make a move to officially announce his ex-communication, though. What would be the point? No one could possibly mistake him for a faithful priest in communion with Rome. I don’t think that even he believes that, anymore. 😦

It is, however, incorrect to refer to him as “Father” Tony Adams as was done in the earlier post. He loses the right to the title when he loses his place in ministry.

This is right. He should not be using or be given any of the titles proper to the clergy.

On yahoo.com there are all types of stories from many sources. What I have seen is that for the huffington post most of their stories revolve around 3 things:

First: how great the gay lifestyle is and how it should be accepted by everyone.

Second: how great an atheist view is / how bad any Faith is.

Third: animal type of stories – good and bad treatment of animals

Therefor I refuse to even go to any link that leads to the huffington post. And why I refuse to even believe anything that they post as most of it is their opinion and not fact based.

I pray God grants you strength and happiness.

Y! is just a collection of links, most of which from American liberal commentary blogs that look to draw in traffic with shocker headlines. Personally, I’d be embarrassed to have to those on any news site I would run. Their claims are frequently refuted by conservative watchdog Twitchy in epic fashion. 😃

It is *not *incorrect to say the choice of him as a source is ridiculous. Once again, this is what happens when one person with money turns her blog into something she claims is a news outlet.
 
They all come to the conclusion that depicting gays in art is being for it. They also have paintings of war and other atrocities at the Vatican. Is the artist and the Church who supported the artist condoning that? People can come to some strange conclusions to support their ideas for sure. It happens with the bible everyday.
