Huge Catholic advertising campaign?

Perhaps they figure that the results they tracked will be the same in all areas of the country?

Our area in Cali is getting hit extremely hard with Catholic Advertising. Usually at least 1 TV Commerical each hour. Can’t drive down the road with out seeing at least 2 Catholic Radio ads.

It is, that’s what the current campain is for. Starting in Advent 2009 It is being piloted in, I believe, 6 additional districts. All of the information is available here: catholicscomehome.org/

I saw it on the way to church last Sunday also. Turns out its for the Denzal Washinton movie Book of Eli.
 
The Catholic Church’s new advertising Campaign was conceived by the “Coming Home Network, International” founded by Marcus Grodi. http://www.chnetwork.org It is endorsed by the Catholic Church, at least in the U.S. The Rockford, Illinois Diocese is running TV commercials here, starting very soon, and commercials are planned nationwide.

As for the question of why the Catholic Church feels it necessary to run commercials, it is simply for the evangelism of non-practicing Catholics, our separated brethren (Protestants) and non-Christians. What greater way to reach millions of people then through the media of television?

The Rockford Diocese has been handing out “Come Home to the Catholic Church” buttons for about 4-5 weeks, for people to wear out in public. This is being done with the hope of starting conversations to bring fallen-away Catholics back to the practice of their Catholic Faith. As a former Evangelical Protestant and Catholic Catechumen, I applaud this campaign.
