So I found out some information that is hugely helpful! When Jesus side was pierced on the cross and it released blood and water that is evidence of pericardial effusion and means he 100% died!!! Since they didn’t know about it at the time and still recorded it that is a huge testament to him actually dying! So I know this for sure a man named Jesus existed according to Josephus, Tacitus, Pliny the younger, and the biblical accounts, he definitely was crucified and died on the cross, now I’m beginning to have some hope!! I fell away the last week and missed Sunday mass and was in mortal sin but I am going to confession which was the last service before Easter tonight!!! Thank you all so much for helping me through this!

It will be an issue for me I guarantee but the fact he existed and died is so much more physical evidence than I had before!

I greatly appreciate it! God works even though I’m in a state of mortal sin how absolutely merciful!

Every single serious historical scholar will agree that Jesus of Nazareth existed, that he was a man who lived in 1st century Palestine and was a native of Galilee, his parents were Mary and Joseph, he was baptized in the Jordan by John the Baptist, he was a reputed miracle worker and exorcist, he had numerous disciples, he was thought of by some as a Rabbi, others as a Prophet, and some as the Messiah, he was crucified under Pontius Pilate and died.

No serious scholar - whether he be atheist, Christian, Jewish, will deny any of these. Only wingnut conspiracy theorists deny any of these 100% historical facts.

The things which not every scholar accepts, and which have to be either accepted or rejected on faith, are: his eternity as God, his Virgin Birth, the actual words which he spoke, whether or not he actually worked miracles, and whether or not he was resurrected after 3 days. These are all questions which one can both deny and still be a serious historical scholar.

But there’s evidence!!! They didn’t know about pericardial effusion no reason to mention it unless they witnessed it!!! This is a massive step forward for me!

Of course there’s evidence for the crucifixion and death of Jesus - there’s MOUNTAINS of evidence.

Which is why exactly 0 scholars dispute that fact (well, aside from some Islamic scholars with an agenda).

Hey man I hope you are well! It’s a baby step for sure but it’s at least evidence of the existence and death of Jesus! That shows validity to the gospels in some regard.

Have you started to believe he was the son of God?
Before you think of trying to poison @Struggling1 with your misotheism, why don’t you instead come at someone who’s well grounded in their faith and can make a solid defense of the Catholic faith?

Give me any argument against Jesus and the Catholic doctrine about him and I’ll answer it. One at a time please.

yes. I goofed.

@Struggling1 I was incorrect in my previous post. There’s a whole section concerning Jesus in this one, though

This is the Grace of God through the Holy Spirit, giving you understanding.
