I read recently that humans can be seen as musical instrument of God.

Was it here?

Does that sound correct?

I am sure if it was not hear, one of you might know the source.

THANKS!

Interesting concept. I know of an exponent of non dualism who used to sign his letters “Man is a Song.” He was a phenomenal musicologist and former concert pianist of exceptional talent. But the idea of interpreting us as being individually “instruments” is completely dependent on the fundamental premise one might use in engaging in a conceptual discussion. From the standpoint of christianism, I think not, due to the idea of free will. Though in that case there is the possibility of transformation by alignment, if you will. From other standpoints, the question could actually become interesting. But this may not be the playground for that! 🙂

I have wondered whether Kind David’s harp is not actually his soul or life.

Also, in St. Paul he mentions a clanging cymbal and a noise gong.

The 7 stringed harp has been used as a symbol for the “energy centers” which Carolyn Myss equates as awakening with an equivalency to the seven sacraments. I’d say that since the interior experience, which actually constituents meaning, is also the realm most open to interpretation. Thus the remarkable volumes of symbology adherent to spiritual ideas, no useful common language yet having been found or instituted.

Yes, that’s correct. We’re a musical instrument that’s meant to be played by two musicians: ourselves together with Him. Apart from Him we’re way off key; disharmony reigns. We’re here to learn what Adam failed to recognize: of our need for this “artistic partnership”, of this communion.

I don’t know your background, but that is a lot of enthusiasm. And you know where that e word comes from. So of course, that is our common background. We are both Catholics, but way likely mean somewhat different things by that. My comments and observations are far more based on experience and contemplation than on any dogma or tenet. I’ve gone through a door that wasn’t there to arrive where I’ve never gone from. And that is sufficient for any one. So generally I don’t truck with masks, pretty or otherwise, only as what is behind them.

I often think that music is the language of God. It is so emotional and beautiful, and also mathematical and precise. The note system is equated to the language of the spheres. When I listen or sing beautiful music, I feel very close to God.
