Wouldn’t. cloning be similar to if a child of fornication or IVF came about? Just pointing it out as it brings up a really grey area.

I think that’s why they’ve been experimenting with putting human organs in pigs. So you could grow just a human heart in a pig and then kill the pig and put the heart into a human.My fear about human cloning is organ harvesting. I think there was a movie made about that relatively recently.

I mean, God isn’t OBLIGATED to create a soul for a child conceived in the usual way, either, but so far He always does.
The important consideration is that the image of “fake people” walking around, acting like everyone else but lacking souls, is impossible according to Catholic theology. If someone acts like a human, with rational thought and the like, then he or she has a human soul by definition.
