Hi everyone,

I know this is a bit of a an odd question considering that this is mainly an American forum, but I was wondering whether anyone knows anything about the British Human embryology and Fertilization Bill. I’m British and there is a huge argument going on between politicians (many of whom apparently don’t know what the bill contains) and the Catholic Bishops. I’m not to good at science, and don’t rely know much about the bill or its moral implictations and was hoping someone here would be able to clarify it for me.

Thanks in advance,
RCA

RCA, Your question is rather vague. LifeSiteNews has been reporting on the situation in the UK so I am familiar with the debate. The question is the same no matter where you live. Are we going to allow the creation of human beings for the sole purpose of destroying them through experimentation? The Catholic Church has stated regardless of good motives the dignity and sanctity of all human persons must be respected from the earliest stage of existence.

You can research the stem cell debate at the Do NO Harm website which is a coalition of Americans for research ethics.

stemcellresearch.org/

It is a good place to start.
