PROJECT APPROVED TO REVOKE THE CHILEAN NATIONALITY TO CARDINAL RICARDO EZZATI
January 7, 2019
During the afternoon of these Mondays the Senate Human Rights Commission approved the project that revokes the Chilean nationality to the cardinal Ricardo Ezzati Andrello .
The decision was adopted after Ezzati was involved in cases such as eventual concealer of some of the sexual abuse committed within the Chilean Catholic Church .
Ezzati, born in Italy in 1942, had received the Chilean nationality by special grace on April 24, 2006 by the National Congress.
The decision to revoke that nationality was approved unanimously , after the initiative was presented by the senators Adriana Muñoz and Ximena Rincón in July 2018. . . . .
