Exactly what is a humanist the closest thing that I could find was
humaniststudies.org/humphil.html

Are those that have a God not human enough?
Are we irrational, or non-thinking?
I ask this because I have seen a movement of certain groups of people refer themselves to ‘thinkers’ and along those lines now I am hearing humanist come to the table of discussion. It just really perplexes me. What happened to plain ol’ atheist?
I know that as a person we all want to strive to be moral in fact I think we are called to be moral, and virtous if you are a believer this is the only way we should be. Always taking into account how we treat each other. Do humanist take this one step above regular atheists? I just would like to know why this defintion?

Why humanist instead of atheist? …kind of the same reason that “anti-abortion” was changed to “pro-life”… so you could stand for something positive. I’m not sure all ‘humanists’ would agree that total atheism is a required tenet.

A lot of people who don’t believe in satan don’t want to believe in evil, either. Let alone, their own evil… so it’s appealing to rationalize every impulse as natural, human.

Somehow these people never explain what’s natural and human about warped serial killers, etc.
