HUNDREDS PROTEST HILLARY CLINTON AT CANISIUS

Last week, Catholic Higher Education Alert reported that pro-abortion Sen.
Hillary Clinton would speak on Monday, January 31, at Canisius College on
“The Governmental Role in Caring for the Sick,” part of a lecture series
on the “Governmental Role in Effectuating
the Corporal Works of Mercy.”

Despite fainting during a previous appearance in Buffalo, New York,
Clinton did in fact deliver her speech at Canisius – but not without a
strong show of opposition. The Associated Press reported that “hundreds”
of protesters questioned Clinton’s pro-abortion stance and her presence at
a Catholic college.

Bishop Edward Kmiec of Buffalo announced publicly that he was displeased
with Clinton’s appearance at Canisius and pulled the co-sponsorship of the
diocese’s Office of Church Ministry and Catholic Charities, which were
unaware that Clinton has been selected to speak. He did not, however,
insist that the event be canceled, citing the Church’s need for dialogue
with pro-abortion public officials.

“We have communicated our displeasure and have discussed the situation
with Canisius College officials,” Bishop Kmiec said.

Media articles from the Buffalo News and the Associated Press cited
Cardinal Newman Society’s role in protesting the Clinton speech. Stacia
Vogel of the Buffalo Regional Right to Life Committee led the local
protest and was especially helpful to CNS, and the Republican National
Coalition for Life also generated complaints.

If I didn’t read it here, I never would have know about the protest. Don’t we usually hear if a Republican is protested anywhere? I think this is MSM protecting abortion.
