Of course Catholic priests are not impeccable or infallible. This goes without saying right?Yeah, millions of people. That’s all I said, that everyone else is doing it.
Look, I pointed to Catholic clergy who disagree with you. Sure, you can hold the view that it is “porn” all you want, but it doesn’t meet any definition of porn, nor is that it’s primary purpose or use. Now, just as you are free to think that it’s porn so is the OP, and that difference in opinion is one that her and her husband will have to find a way to work through.
But your opinion on this one is just that, your opinion. It is not based on any church teaching and it is important to realize that many people, Catholic leaders included, disagree with you.
As a young man, I can tell you that those scenes in those shows serve one purpose…lustful eye candy. That is what porn is for, and that is why it is placed in those shows.
In case there is confusion:
2354 Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants (actors, vendors, the public), since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials.
Viewing the real or simulated sex acts on Game of Thrones "removed the acts from the intimacy of the partners in order to display them deliberately to third parties ".
It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants
Is it your opinion that it is not sinful for two unmarried actors to get naked and be intimate with each other on camera?
