Husband with MS still refuses counselling

I’ve been here before but my situation ins not improving.

My Husband, who has MS, will not go t counselling to discuss why our marriage has been sexless for twenty years, or the past emotional and verbal abuse (his) in our marraige which has left me after 35 years feeling I have nothing. We are childless as well.

I see no prosepcts for joy in continuing to live with someone who does not want to know about my sadness and refuses to help me improve things.

I am devastated by his disability but no longer able to put his happiness above my own.

God forgive me but I will be separating from him in the very near future.

I feel my own health is now at stake.
 
If his actions are causing your health and peace of mind to suffer, you may have to separate from him. Rose Hawthorne Lathrop (founder of the Hawthorne Dominicans) had to separate from her husband when she could no longer live with his alcoholism.

I’ll keep you in my prayers, and I hope you can find some peace.
 
Being disabled doesn’t mean he gets to hog all the caring. I’ll pray that he sees the light; and if he doesn’t that you both be blessed as you go your separate ways.

This might be the “hitting bottom” he needs to get his life in order, though it grieves me to see this happen.
