O sanctissima, o piissima,
dulcis Virgo Maria!
Mater amata, intemerata,
ora, ora pro nobis.

Tu solatium et refugium,
Virgo Mater Maria.
Quidquid optamus, per te speramus;
ora, ora pro nobis.

Ecce debiles, perquam flebiles;
salva nos, o Maria!
Tolle languores, sana dolores;
ora, ora pro nobis.

Virgo, respice, Mater, aspice;
audi nos, o Maria!
Tu medicinam portas divinam;
ora, ora pro nobis.

O most holy, o most loving,
sweet Virgin Mary!
Beloved Mother, undefiled,
pray, pray for us.

You are solace and refuge,
Virgin, Mother Mary.
Whatever we wish, we hope it through you;
pray, pray for us.

Look, we are weak and deeply deplorable;
save us, o Mary!
Take away our lassitude, heal our pains;
pray, pray for us.

Virgin, look at us, Mother, care for us;
hear us, o Mary!
You bring divine medicine;
pray, pray for us.

This hymn is so awesome and reverent, in the same vein as Ave Maria.

Magnificat anima mea Dominum,
et exsultavit spiritus meus in Deo salutari meo,
quia respexit humilitatem ancillae suae.
Ecce enim ex hoc beatam me dicent omnes generationes,
quia fecit mihi magna, qui potens est,
et sanctum nomen eius,
et misericordia eius in progenies et progenies
timentibus eum.
Fecit potentiam in brachio suo,
dispersit superbos mente cordis sui;
deposuit potentes de sede
et exaltavit humiles;
esurientes implevit bonis
et divites dimisit inanes.
Suscepit Israel puerum suum,
recordatus misericordiae,
sicut locutus est ad patres nostros,
Abraham et semini eius in saecula.

My soul glorifies the Lord, *
my spirit rejoices in God, my Saviour.
He looks on his servant in her lowliness; *
henceforth all ages will call me blessed.
The Almighty works marvels for me. *
Holy his name!
His mercy is from age to age, *
on those who fear him.
He puts forth his arm in strength *
and scatters the proud-hearted.
He casts the mighty from their thrones *
and raises the lowly.
He fills the starving with good things, *
sends the rich away empty.
He protects Israel, his servant, *
remembering his mercy,
the mercy promised to our fathers, *
to Abraham and his sons for ever.

Salve Mater misericordiae, Mater Dei et Mater veniae, Mater spei et Mater gratiae, Mater plena Sanctae Letitiae,
O Maria!
Salve decus humani generis.
O Maria!
Salve Mater…

Hail mother of mercy, mother of God and mother of pardon, mother of hope and mother of grace, mother full of holy gladness. O Mary!
Hail, honor of the mankind. Hail worthier Virgin than the other ones because you overcome all of them and in the heaven you occupy the highest seat of honor. O Mary!
Hail mother…
Hail Blest Virgin yet bearing child: For he who sits at the Father’s right hand. The ruler of heaven, of earth and sky, has sheltered Himself in your womb. O Mary!
Hail mother…
Become, O mother, our solace: Be for us our source of joy, and at the last, after this exile, unite us rejoicing to the choir of angels. O Mary!
Hail mother…

We sang this at Mass on Sunday , 1st Sunday of May .

I’m chuffed to be able to post this because it’s from my diocese of Salford’s annual pilgrimage to Lourdes in 2015 , and one of the deacons assisting Bishop John is now Father Howard who spent a year in our parish following his ordination to the priesthood .

Holy Virgin, by God’s decree,
You were called eternally;
That he could give his Son to our race.
Mary, we praise you, hail, full of grace.

Ave, ave, ave, Maria.

By your faith and loving accord,
As the handmaid of the Lord,
You undertook God’s plan to embrace.
Mary we thank you, hail, full of grace.

Joy to God you gave and expressed,
Of all women none more blessed,
When in mankind your Son took his place.
Mary, we love you, hail, full of grace.

Refuge for your children so weak,
Sure protection all can seek.
Problems of life you help us to face.
Mary, we trust you, hail, full of grace.

To our needy world of today
Love and beauty you portray,
Showing the path to Christ we must trace.
Mary, our mother, hail, full of grace.

“Totus Tuus”, Op. 60 by Gorecki, was written for mixed choir in 1987 to celebrate Pope John Paul II’s third pilgrimmage to Poland.

Totus tuus sum Maria,
Mater nostri Redemptoris.
Virgo Dei, virgo pia
Mater mundi Salvatoris.
Totus tuus sum, Maria!

I am completely yours, Mary,
Mother of our Redeemer.
Virgin Mother of God, loving virgin,
Mother of the Saviour of the world.
I am completely yours, Mary!

We sang this at this morning’s Sunday Eucharist .

The video is from our 83rd Salford diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes .

As I kneel before you,
As I bow my head in prayer,
Take this day, make it yours
and fill me with your love.

Refrain:
Ave Maria,
Gratia plena,
Dominus tecum,
Benedicta tu.

All I have I give you,
Every dream and wish are yours,
Mother of Christ,
Mother of mine, present them to my Lord.

(Repeat Refrain)

As I kneel before you,
And I see your smiling face,
Ev’ry thought, ev’ry word
Is lost in your embrace.

(Repeat Refrain)

This is a new one to me .

Sing we of the blessed Mother who received the angel’s word,
And obedient to the summons bore in love the infant Lord;
Sing we of the joys of Mary at whose breast that child was fed
Who is Son of God eternal and the everlasting Bread.

Sing we, too, of Mary’s sorrows, of the sword that pierced her through,
When beneath the cross of Jesus she his weight of suff’ring knew,
Looked upon her Son and Savior reigning from the awful tree,
Saw the price of our redemption paid to set the sinner free.

Sing again the joys of Mary when she saw the risen Lord,
And in prayer with Christ’s apostles, waited on his promised word:
from on high the blazing glory of the Spirit’s presence came,
heav’nly breath of God’s own being tokened in the wind and flame.

Sing the chiefest joy of Mary, when on earth her work was done,
And the Lord of all creation brought her to his heav’nly home:
Virgin Mother, Mary blessed, raised on high and crowned with grace,
May your Son, the world’s redeemer, grant us all to see his face.

Used to sing this in the school choir when I was a child. Beautiful
