I was reading Why Catholicism Matters by Bill Donahue and read something really interesting, that a poor woman in Washington D.C. can go to an abortion clinic and have an abortion provided with tax payer money but on the other side of the coin the government will not provide for the woman and her child if she decides not to kill the baby while pregnant.

How does the “Pro-choice” supporters justify this?

They don’t.

They could not care less.

They are financed and promoted by the people that make money out of this filthy business.

They call us “anti-abortion” and to a degree we are, but they never admit that they are “pro abortion”, when that’s what they are.

They don’t say: “all right, here are your choices, all equally good.” No, of course not! It’s all about having the abortion.

They speak about a woman’s body and a woman’s right. They never say the terrible consequences that abortions have on women, or of how terribly it impacts society and family the idea that if contraception (another evil that nowadays it’s even taught in school) fails, then you have always that other way to escape the responsibility of bearing a child. What about the body and the rights of that woman-to-be in the womb? Oh, that doesn’t matter, it doesn’t fit their agenda. One cannot make money out of that.

They always pull their hair and scream: “oh, really, you say no to abortion even after rape???”, forgetting that only less than 1% of the over 1,000,000 abortions per year are due to rape, the rest being mostly the result of casual pre-marital sex.

We had an amendment in Florida that was supposed to stop taxpayer money from financing abortions, and a “pro-choice” group showed up opposing the amendment. I spoke with them, and they told me: this amendment hurts women by preventing them from receiving life-saving treatment in case of cancer. Lies! This amendment was all about business. About abortion clinics being allowed to stick their hands in my pockets, taking out my money - which I could use to save a life - and using it to pay for someone to kill their unborn child. To what degree does that make me responsible for abortions before God? I don’t know! But it’s just an incredible intrusion, which they strenuously defend with a zeal worthy of better causes. What is next? Euthanasia, probably. It’s a matter of years.

Good post !
Regarding your comment- “Euthanasia, probably. It’s a matter of years”
NO it is NOT years away.
It is now in some states.
Where i live it has been fully legal for Dr’s to kill people at (supposedly) their request.
I have had close experience with this awful thing, my wifes’ father has a neighbor whose husband ‘elected to end it’. An hour before the Dr was to arrive, he was talking to my father in law, saying he was unsure if he should go thru with it. When the time came, his wife (believe it or not) actually pressured him into going ahead with it," Since the Dr is here now and everything has been arranged…" I cannot even stand to be in the presence of that woman any more, it is strange beyond imagining.

Back this country up 60 years and ask yourself how Americans would have reacted to many of the grossly godless things we have ‘come to accept’ in todays society .

Where are we headed as a nation, and who do you think is really at the wheel ???

Bill Donohue and hypocrisy? Hmm.

Anyway, as someone whose apartment complex is literally next to a WIC building I can state matter-of-factly that there are plenty of government programs that assist pregnant women (as well as after the birth). A search on Google will show the same thing.

Many of these people have been brain-washed into actually believing that unborn babies are not really human beings, but only blobs of tissue…and this is despite what science has proven…😦

I have to admit, I’m very confused by this post. First of all, it is flatly false that a woman in Washington D.C. can get a government funded abortion. Federal funds can’t generally be used for abortions and D.C., unlike states, has virtually no control over local funds either. Their spending is controlled by the US Congress which currently bans funding of abortions.

Yes, there is a terrible hypocrisy that the woman, being in D.C. has some of the worst prenatal support services, and a correspondingly tragic infant mortality rate to go with the ban on public funding abortions, but how, precisely, is that under the exclusive control of “Pro-choice” supporters?

After all, the same Congress that bans public funding of abortions there also starves pro life services. So isn’t the hypocrisy there?

To be completely fair we should note that people who self identify as “pro choice” are more likely to support programs for women and children. Conversely, people who self identify as “pro life” are less likely to support poverty programs in general.

Understand, that is statistically, as a group, we can’t presume to know the feelings of individuals - but it is a good reminder that our political labels have almost no relationship to our Catholic concepts of things like ‘pro life’, which is every stage and every condition.
