Hypocritical Preaching

No, I would never parish hop. But since you are not giving any details about what it is, there is no way to discern what course of action, if any would be appropriate.

Too self identifying, but I will try, as this is important to me.

Pastor/Priest/Rabbi is there to teach/preach; this includes a very major defining tenet of the faith.He/she is bound to believe, and uphold said tenet
He/she **personally denounces it **and makes no bones about it. But not while preaching to the congregation. Tenet is upheld in services.
Congregant is confused and a bit peeved at the disparity because he/she is firm in the faith and by all accounts there is no wiggle room for debate. None.

For Christians, responses have suggested that if there is anger, that is not the best condition with which to receive. Gotcha.
Others, receive. Gotcha. Now back to the other question.

What to do? One is called to defend the faith. How in this case? Are personal viewpoints of a man/woman of God held to his/her preaching?

I think this is the best way this can be expressed.

It he is not preaching heresy to the people or children, there’s not a lot you personally can do about his personal beliefs. Should he believe? Of course. You can’t make him.
How do you know this about him? Where is he “making no bones about it”?
His boss isn’t going to rein him in if he’s not speaking publicly in a heretical fashion.
Is this right? Probably not.
Can you do anything about it?
Probably not.

Okay. Case closed, I guess. Scratching my head. Of course, and again. No reconciliation of the disparity.
