Hypothetical Revival in Catholic Church

During one of my conversations with my wise old Protestant pastor, we were discussing the possibility of a Christian revival, a perennial favourite in Protestant circles.

He commented that if there were to be a revival in Australia, he thought it would probably start in a Catholic Church, which is unusual coming from a Protestant. But since I found he was nearly always right in what he said, then i suspect it may happen.

Now suppose we did have such a revival, and it did start in a Catholic Church. As word got around, and more and more Protestants, Orthodox and atheists started dropping in to see what all the fuss was about, I wonder how well prepared the Catholic priesthood and laity would be to capitalise on this?

Could we simply depend on Christ’s injunction to depend on the Holy Spirit when you are brought before kings and governors as a testimony for His sake, or would we need to do some homework so we could explain clearly our position on the Eucharist, the Pope, the Sacraments, Mary and the Saints?

Any comments?
