So Catholicism should be taught in public schools? The truth should be taught in public school.
Who is truth itself? Who has the “fullness of truth”?
Why would we want any less for our children?

In the past schools, the community and the media supported protestantism and some Catholicism depending on location. So Catholicism should be taught in public schools?
I’m not a Protestant. I don’t want my child exposed to Protestantism- that is the dominant Christian faith in the US- especially in the bible belt.In the past schools, the community and the media supported protestantism and some Catholicism depending on location.
In the 60’s it began to be dismantled.
Now we cannot even mention God or pray. I submit this has had terrible consequences for society.
Let’s break it down. Catholicism is the universal religion founded by Jesus.
The 10 commandments are a good start - they exist in our history and on public walls.
Break em down - a good start would be the last 7.
Any objections to the last 7?
RIght - it is time to make a move to get to the “fullness of truth”.I’m not a Protestant. I don’t want my child exposed to Protestantism- that is the dominant Christian faith in the US- especially in the bible belt.
Thus I send my kids to Catholic School.RIght - it is time to make a move to get to the “fullness of truth”.
Faith is taught in the home. Thus I send my kids to Catholic School.
Public school is for Americans of all faiths- not a venue for Christian evangelization.
Students are free to pray on their own or in groups if they desire. The faculty or staff of a school shouldn’t be forwarding any kind of religious evangelization.Faith is taught in the home.
The law has upheld student rights to practice their faith in public school.
The First Amendment protects the rights of all Americans to practice their religion. This includes Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, and Jews.
Wednesday afternoons, I took the bus after school to catechism classes. Many school districts do not have afterschool activities on Wednesdays because they recognize that students traditionally receive religious education on Wednesdays at their local church.
Then your position has to be it is just one of many and really doesn’t have the fullness of truth. Thus I send my kids to Catholic School.

Best post EVER.Public school is for Americans of all faiths- not a venue for Christian evangelization.
Schools period are for learning and expanding ones insight. Till this trend of thinking those with a religen are intellectually challenged ends I think faith should be in all schools.Best post EVER.

We don’t live in Christendom. We live in a diverse nation where everyone deserves respect,Then your position has to be it is just one of many and really doesn’t have the fullness of truth.
What has happened is a concession to the lowest common denominator. We can do better than that.
What if we strip it down like this - teach the truth. We don’t live in Christendom. We live in a diverse nation where everyone deserves respect,
I believe that Catholicism is true but I would not force that upon anyone, except for my children, for whom I have authority.
