The Third Joyful Mystery; The Nativity

Jesus is born in Bethlehem. The angels announce His birth; kings and shepherds come to adore Him.

We pray that all seminarians grow in knowledge and love of God to become holy priests. We pray especially for those who will be ordained soon, that they remain faithful all their lives to the sublime privilege of being “other Christs” among us. We pray that everyone will come to value the Eucharistic Feast and the Priesthood among God’s greatest gifts to us. We pray that every priest will consider himself a member of the Holy Family, a true son of Mary and Joseph, and a brother-priest of Jesus, the great High Priest.

We pray for any CAF members who are thinking of becoming priests or consecrated brothers or sisters

We pray for more vocations.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name! Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen!

How wonderful for you and the other 11 candidates…wow vocations here in Australia are like hens teeth. Congratulations on being related to Mary MacKillop - may she watch over you and your fellow candidates. Will certainly keep you and your brothers in prayer…

I will join the prayers for you and the group and add the request to my daily petitions

Down-under? :dts: Hmph. We’re actually the ones on top of the world don’tcha know 😉

Honoured to meet a relative of our home-grown Blessed (of course the overwhelming Scottish ancestry doesn’t make her any less a dinky-di Aussie).

You a MacKillop as well by any chance? I notice a ‘mac’ in your username. But she has been a Blessed (may she be sainted soon :gopray2: ) for 12 years now - ain’t no new title unless she’s been elevated to sainthood when I wasn’t looking or something 🤷

I live just over half an hour away from the convent in North Sydney where she’s buried, but to my shame haven’t had the chance to visit. I will soon though!
Well, as to your first statement, I guess “on top” is a matter of perspective, aye?

Secondly, unfortunately I was not blessed with the same surname as my distant relative. I am a MacDonald, though, and that is a blessed thing as well.My dad knows more on the family tree, but I trust him, since his brother[God rest him]traced our family history back about eighteen-hundred years…
Thought it was more recent, her Beatification. Anyhoo, there is a very thin line of difference between Blessed and Saint. It is only in whether the person is worthy of local or worldwide recognition, as I know of it.

Well, take care, and thanks again for your prayers.👍

Thank you so much, Shoshana! That was such a lovely pic of Our Lady and Jesus and such sweet sentiments that I had to include them in my reply!:heaven: I pray often for an increase in vocations, as well, and am sooo appreciative of all the prayers our group recieves. May God look down on you and smile widely!🙂 🙂 🙂

Another Aussie…Well, God Bless ya!👍 Vocations here in the US are very slim as well, though they are increasing as of the last few years or so.

Heard of a really good yet very small Catholic University over there on EWTN recently, can’t remember the name…

Well, thanks for the prayer support, and trust it is reciporacated!👍 🙂

I just want to say another thank you to all of you for your prayers and sentiments…It means ALOT to me, and to my fellow candidates, as well. It is so good to have such quality people such as yourselves on my team, as the team is all of us, after all!

[As St. Francis most lovingly refered to Our Lord] May the “poor and humble Christ” shine peace upon you all!:signofcross:

I now know what the mixup was about Mother Mary of the Cross. It was her last proven miracle a few couple of years ago that leaves her with only one more for the title of Saint, as my father told me yesterday. The Venerable Solanus Casey also needs one to be named Blessed, to which account the Vatican so far has not made a final verdict on this last petition.

Let’s lift one up on both accounts, shall we?:signofcross: :gopray2:

Just an update, incase anyone comes across this thread…

There are 8 of us now that will be going to Milwaukee, WI- not Chicago, IL- as was the first plan, that have been accepted into postulancy, including Ken from the Toronto area, who is my age.

We will be starting postulancy, the pre-noviciate year, on August 17th.

Thanks again for everyones’ prayers, and please pray for many more vocations to the preisthood and religeous life to be realized! :highprayer:
