I am a little scared........strange things going on in our house

For sure!..and as I said in my previous post, if something is disturbing to one it is always best to subject it to a priest and be guided by what he has to say …
 
Hey guys, just a little update…I talked to a priest when I went to confession and told him everything that has happened. He prayed a prayer over me and there hasnt been anything going on so far. I asked my priest today and he said he could come and bless my house. I told him that would be great so he is going to come in the next couple weeks. Thanks for all the advice!!!

Good move! I hope that the strange happenings will cease for good …
 
It is not neccesarily a demonic thing.

Get it blessed or exorcised if it is serious.

You yourseld can get St. Benedict medals blessed and put them around.

But also many times it is the way of souls of purgatory asking for your prayers.

If you feel it is that pray for them but put conditions.

No scaring the heck out of you. Seriously put conditions.

I many times ask them to wake me up when I don’t have an alarm clock and I’ll pray this and that for them and it works. I just always ask that they not “touch” me because I don’t like being touched when I sleep.

I’ll pull a knife on you!!!
 
Are you serious? This would have freaked me out yesterday. Definately talk to a priest as in today. :eek:

That’s good news. It should also be noted that it might not be “paranormal” at all, in that it might be more an extension of the unconscious–usually paranormal activity is the last possible explanation before ruling all other things out. Poltergeist activities have often been linked to someone who is emotionally and/or psychologically troubled in a house (usually a teen, who most often go through such a growing up phase), and somehow that person can extend his unconscious beyond himself, to the point of moving objects and even at times attack someone in the family (often the target is someone that person is having an issue with). It might be best to also talk to your priest along with your wife to see if there are unresolved issues that might be triggering these things.
 
Millirado, I think he does not have it because his wife has seen that, too.
Uk, you really scared me reading your situation.

Ps. you are thinking about the only two recorded cases: 1. st. augustine (I believe0 saw a soul of someone who wanted a christian burial and 2. Padre pio saw a clumsy altar boy.

These are not the same things as “poltergiests”

Not so. Many saints and other Church approved visionaries (I hate that word because the world is so full of “visionaries” and no saints) have had many visits of souls from Purgatory requesting prayers and masses.

And they are even violent and gruesome sometimes.
Remember in Purgatory we are deformed in ways that reflect the sins we commited.

I have a friend who the souls in purgatory come to visit to ask for prayers- i do not comsider this a ghostly encounter like the other phenomena going on in “hauntings”. When we speak of a haunting, there is something else going on. My main point here is that there is no such thing as a lost soul. there is death judgment heaven (purgatory) and hell- there is no wandering. to think that a ghost is harmless is a dangerous idea- it has to come from somewhere. there is no real way of knowing where it it from without communicating to it (which is a very bad idea) unless it is accompanied by saints and agngels and christ in glory- in which case i do not think it is a ghost, but a saint. gghosts remain a mystery because death remains a mystery.

  1. They are part of the Church, i.e., the Church Suffering
  2. They are not violent or harmful to us.
  3. They pray for us, the Church Militant.
  4. They would certainly not avoid a crucifix.
  5. They cannot pray for themselves, that is why it is important that we, the Church Militant pray for them. Do so daily.

I wasn’t saying that these “hauntings” were from souls in purgatory, I was just saying that some “ghosts” are souls in purgatory.

When we deal with the unconscious mind, often the one who is projecting such things are unaware that they’re doing it, and think that such events are being done by someone or something else. This is often the case with poltergeist activities, for instance.
