I am a little scared........strange things going on in our house

In the last week a couple of strange things have been going on in our house. Last Thursday night I was in our room alone (my wife was out shopping) and I was saying my nightly prayers, when I heard what sounded like whispering in the corner of the room. I got up and got my bottle of holy water and blessed myself and got my rosary and started praying. Things calmed down pretty quick after that. Then last night, my wife came to bed at about 1 o’clock and she woke me up and told me she was seeing shadows moving around on the ceiling. I opened my eyes and saw it just for a second and didn’t see it anymore. I got up this morning and asked her about it and she said it went on for about an hour and the shadow would move around and look like it was breathing but it wouldn’t come past the Crucifix above our bed. My wife isn’t Catholic and she thought that was kind of cool! Anyway, that kinda freaked me out a little but that’s pretty tame compared to some other things that have gone on this house. 4 people have died here over the years, I personally have seen people in the house that weren’t really there, we have heard people calling our names, if you’re downstairs you can hear what sounds like people walking around upstairs, lights and appliances go on and off on their own, drawers open on their own, and things fall off the counter on their own, seeing shadows out of the corner of my eyes ALL THE TIME…you know the usual stuff :rolleyes: What I’m getting at is what the heck can I do about this??? I have really been trying to bring myself closer to God the last few weeks and have really strengthened my devotion to our Blessed Mother. I’m just wondering if this is related at all… It’s getting a little scary because this much activity hasn’t happened in such a short amount of time…Any suggestions??? Please help!

Okay, all of that is just really creepy. I think you need to talk to your priest ASAP. Maybe he can come bless your house as a whole, then bless every room and also the yard. He can also offer counsel as to what else you should do or direct you to someone else in the Church who can help you. If I were you, I would keep plenty of holy water and blessed candles on hand too. I’d look into getting some blessed salt and using that in your yard. First and foremost, though, if I were you, I would seek the counsel of my priest for help and direction. If he does not help, go to a neighboring parish until you can find help to banish whatever is in your house.

Call a priest as soon as possible… and have the house blessed.

I’m also going to suggest that you get a large St. Benedict medal (called a door seal). I have read, that these are often used in monastery’s. They have them hanging on the walls. We got one, for our house… and have it hanging in the upper hall. It comes with a prayer to St. Benedict (who is known to be a powerful intercessor, against demonic activity). I also placed a smaller one, in our car. They are not to be used, in a spirit of superstition. But in a spirit of prayerful trust in God. Be sure to have the medal blessed by a priest.

First of all, you need to call The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) – the guys who do the “Ghost Hunters” show on the Sci-Fi Channel and get them out there ASAP!

Seriously, given that you’ve had unexplained activity going on there for years, this just sounds like another step up in the activity. Discuss the activity with your priest, then have him come over and bless the house, top to bottom, attic to basement, including every closet and the porch (if you have one).

The whole thing with all this is, I don’t understand why. Why would all this happen? Things have happened in the past but nothing this close and personal. :confused:

“uk” Why do these things happen to ANY of us? But, they DO happen. The devil is real and its primary goal is the damnation of as many souls as possible… before Our Lord returns to us.

But my advice is DO NOT dwell on that. But rather, on TRUST in Our Lord and living your life as His disciple. Remember, that you and your family are precious Children of God. And that He loves all of you (us).

Have your house blessed. Order the St. Benedict Medal. Keep Holy Water at hand. Pray the Rosary. Ask Our Lady for her protection… and put your home under the Lordship of Jesus. The “creeps” won’t hang around for long, after that. God bless.
 
Just to add to what the others have said pray the St. Michael prayer also!!!
 
Do all that everyone here has recommended, and I would add:
(1) If you haven’t gone to confession lately…go.
(2) Make Mass a priority
(3) Say the Rosary…daily.

I have heard it said that confession and The Eucharist are very important in cases of demonic activity. Sometimes it will completely take care of the situation…but also DO have a priest come to bless the house…talk to him about the situation if he is of the belief (hate to say this but I personally know several priests who are very skeptical of anything “demonic”) If he is not find one that is. Holy Water, Blessed Salt, St. Benedict door seal, St. Michael Chaplet and Prayer etc., etc. Hit em with all we’ve got!
 
And please update us!! Hope I can speak for all of us:p but I personally will be praying for the situation.:gopray2:
 
Am I the only one who thinks it’s probably just your imagination playing tricks on you? 🤷
 
I recommend everything that others have said.

See your priest.
Get the house blessed, perhaps with exorcism prayers.
Use Holy Water and Blessed Salt in every room
Put up a crucifix in every room
Say your prayers including the Rosary and the St. Michael Prayer.
Trust in God.

I had something in my house here that I had to banish with Blessed Salt, Holy Water and praying in the Spirit even after the house was blessed. When I got to the last room, all my hair was standing on end, my skin went all tingly and I could almost hear voices crying, “No, No, stop, stop!” but I continued and when the last corner/window was salted and sprinkled with holy water, it all stopped, quite abruptly. No more shadows, no more pets shying at invisible things, no more bad smells. no more evil presences. I renew all this periodically.
 
Forget all this ghost hunter stuff. Simply have a priest or deacon bless your home. There is a regular ritual for this in the “Book of blessings”. It is done with holy water and takes only about 5 - 10 minutes. I would suggest this to anyone who has not had their home blessed.

By all means I would have a priest come and bless your house. Maybe he could even excorsize the house. But if things remain the same after this is done, I would suggest another possibility besides demonic forces.

Once I read about the saints being visited by the souls in purgatory, seeking the saints to pray for them. So maybe the souls of the 4 people are trying to communicate to you to offer up indulgences on their behalf. So what I would is find out more about these people who died in your house - at least their names if at all possible. Then I would get a book on indulgences, or search the internet on indulgences. Then I would start doing the indulgences for them.
 
Yeah you need to get your house blessed asap. I’m not sure but I think you can even have the house exorcised. I’m not sure though. I don’t know if this is an option for you but maybe you should look for another place to live? These type of supernatural occurences have a tendency to intensify. I feel sorry for you. 😦 That has to be really, really scary. I wouldn’t be able to tolerate it. :eek:
 
I know others have said the same things, but this is what I would do:


  1. *]Get your house blessed by a Priest ASAP

    *]Place a religious item in every room

    *]Get a St. Benedict Medal and have it blessed properly by a
    Priest

    *]Go to Confession and Mass regularly

    *]Pray to St. Michael for protection

    *]Pray the Rosary daily

    *]Never challenge the spirit directly, never order it to do anything

    *]Always ask the Lord to command it to leave, never order it to leave yourself

    *]Never ask the spirit questions

    *]Do not believe what the spirit says and doubt everything

    *]Plead the blood of Christ over yourself and your family

    *]Have FAITH in God. This is most important. Never lose faith.

    *]Do not show fear. They will only gain strength if you do this.

    *]Ask for the help of your Guardian Angel

    You don’t have the power or the knowledge to challenge the spirits yourself. If you do challenge them directly, you may not be prepared for the consequences. Also, do not try to help them because you are not equipped to do so; by offering to help you may unwittingly invite others in, and effectively open a doorway that is extremely hard to close.

    Prayer is your best weapon, and remember to frequent the sacraments. As your wife is not Catholic, she cannot receive the Sacraments but there is nothing stopping her from praying. Instruct her to pray for deliverence and protection.

    And remember, if these things exist, then God exists too, and he’s far more powerful.

    Lastly, try to create a loving home. Don’t argue with your spouse or your children if you have any. It is very important that your family stick together. Love conquers all.

I tend to agree with the following suggestions posted by posters - (a) House Blessing by a priest (Including the Blessing of each individual room) ASAP, (b) “House Exorcism” and anointing (Church has prayers for that - One step above - House may be “Haunted” indicating demonic Presence) ASAP - Can be done with House Blessing by same priest doing the rituals together, (c) The placing of Blessed Holy Objects in each and every room of the house (crucifixes, holy water), (d) Bi-Weekly (at a Minimum) Sacrament of Penance, (e) Daily reception of the Holy Eucharist by the entire family (4 to 5 days/week chases the devil away), (f) Praying as a Family Together Daily (Rosary, Orayer to St. Michael, Morning & Evening Prayer, Bible Reading & Holy Hour) and doing family activities together (eating together, turning off the TV), and (g) possible reception of the Sacrament of Healing by all of the members of the family.

I know Ukdal’s wife isn’t a Catholic, but now would be a good time for the Faith in it’s fullness to be presented to her. I know she might feel that whatever is happening is cool right now, but (as someone who covorted with these spirits) it’s not going to be enjoyable for very long…

So, She’ll soon agree, that you want to make your home INHOSPITABLE to these spirits, and the list of things above should accomplish that if you do them faithfully and SOON.

And, If these things are done faithfully and soon by ALL members of Ukdal’s family, I don’t think Ukdal’s family will be the ones feeling the need to leave, but the evil spirits who are now making their lives so miserable.

Hey I am not too sure what you are suggesting but what you are telling this person to do with spirits is dangerous. This is not “ghost hunting” it is for real. I have worked in this field for many years and it is not something to relate in a humanistic sense.
A priest or person in the church who is accepted for this kind of work is the only person to relate to your needs. Don’t muck around with it or any person who tells you different.A priest could or would tell you why this has happened and what you should do follow their words.

You can exorcise a house yourself or with a priest. You should not try to exorcise people, but you can pray that demons are cast from your house. This link is to a house blessing and exorcism. You will need a crucifix, Holy water, blessed salt, a St. Benedict medal for each room, and 8 St. Benedict medals for the perimeter of your property.
