I am amazed and pleasantly surprised, at the Eastern Orthodox section here on CAF. I have recently started to have an interest in the Eastern Orthodox Churches from a historical perspective, why we are separated, and what are the differences.
As for my amazement and surprise, I have participated in the Non-Catholic and Apologetics sections and frankly, I am becoming a little weary of all of the attacks and bigotry from those who have little or no respect or factual information regarding the Catholic faith. If they do have factual information it is usually out of context, incomplete, and twisted to support their own particular brand of theology. Here in the Eastern Orthodox section I did a review of the posts from the last few days. Unless I missed something, and I hope I have not and this is the norm, everything that I have read were Catholic and Orthodox brothers and sisters having civil conversations about each other’s faith and point of view with respect to their respective Rites. I have not seen the anger, bigotry, hatefulness, lies, and nasty accusations as I have seen elsewhere. Bless you all.
